제목 Enzymatic Synthesis of Glucose Fatty Acid Ester in Organic Solutions of a Nonionic Surfactant
초록 6-O-caproyl-β-D-glucose, the sugar-ester that contains a hydrophilic moiety of glucose, was synthesized regioselectively by subtilisin A in aqueous pyridine solutions of nonionic surfactant Brij56.
The synthesis of lauric acid n-butyl ester were tested first to find an optimum circumstance for the subtilisin A-catalyzed transesterification. To obtain better conversion of enzymatic synthesis in various organic solvents, many tests were done in the similar conditions and it was found that the enzyme was activated in the presence of the surfactant. After many tests with various surfactants, the surfactant Brij56 was turned out to be the best one and its optimum concentration was around 12 volume %. At this surfactant concentration (Brij56:pyridine:water=12:86:2 v/v), a w/o microemulsion was formed and 95 % conversion to lauric acid n-butyl ester was achieved. The conversion was checked with GC.
