제목 Morphological change of smart biopolymeric microstructures in water in oil emulsion
초록 Elastin-like polypeptide (ELP) is an artificial smart polypeptide with thermoresponsive property. An ELP consisting of a lysine-containing and a lysine-lacking block was successfully synthesized from genetically modified E.coli. Using the ELP expressed, a series of microstructures were prepared by simple water/oil emulsion method. Upon adjusting the experimental temperature, the behavior of ELPs inside the emulsion was controlled. At low temperature (below Tt), ELP microbeads with positively thermo-responsive pores were prepared. At high temperature (above Tt), ELPs were entirely folded and compressed inside the water droplet, and a microcapsule with intact shell and negatively thermo-responsive pores were obtained. In the presentation, the morphological change of ELP microstructures in crosslinking process will be discussed.
