Novel periodic mesoporousmaterials with amphoteric species in the pore wall have been successfully synthesized through co-condensation of bissilylateddiureylenemaleonitrile (BSDUMN) and tetraethylorthosilicate(TEOS), in the acidic medium using triblock copolymer P123 as a structural agent with various BSDUMN to TEOS ratios. Surfactant was extracted from the materials using a acidified ethanol (3:150, HCl:EtOH) at 60°C. The synthesized organosilane precursor has been characterized by 1H, 13C liquid NMR spectroscopic analyses. Mesoporous silica materials were characterized by powder XRD, TEM, FT-IR, N2-sorption isotherm, 29Si and 13C CP MAS NMR and TGA. For further application, nitrile part of the functional ligands were tuned into amphoteric groups using methanolic solution of hydroxylamine. The potential of the materials were found to be suitable drug carrier for controlled drug delivery using IBU and 5-FU as a model drugs in PBS medium at various pH conditions. |
