We successfully fabricated the organic solar cell involved in a colloidal anti-reflection (AR) coating onto a substrate from a bulk-heterojunction of polythieno[3,4-b]-thiophene-co-benzodithiophene (PTB7):[6,6]phenyl-C70-butyric acid methyl ester (PC70BM). The device with the anti-reflection substrate exhibited ~10% improved performance compared to a normal substrate due to increased light absorption across the visible range which correlates to the improved EQE and charge extraction trough optoelectric analyses. Moreover, we investigated the performance and absorption of the device with AR coating as function of an angle of incidence (AOI) to compare those of the pristine device. Our results demonstrate that the anti-reflection can be a meaningful approach in contributing to efficient OPVs through increasing light absorption. |
