High-aspect ratio zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF)-8 nanoplates-based membrane for H2 and CO2 separation |
초록 |
Selective materials with a high-aspect ratio morphology can be beneficial for gas separation applications. High-aspect ratio planar flake can be used as a filler by incorporating into the polymer matrix to form a composite membrane, which is the so-called mixed matrix membrane (MMM). MMMs are expected to have improved gas separation performance compared to polymer membranes due to the intrinsic properties of the filler. We synthesized zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF)-8 nanoplates with an aspect ratio of 20 and fabricated MMM by hybridizing with 6FDA-DAM polymer. Fabricated ZIF-8 nanoplate-based MMMs showed enhanced hydrogen and carbon dioxide separation performances with superior mechanical properties than isotropic ZIF-8 particle-based MMMs. |
