Biohybrid robots can be used in various research fields such as toxicity evaluation and drug test. However, due to the weak contraction performance of muscle cell, so it is difficult to conduct the drug test using muscle cell-based biohybrid robot. To overcome this limitation, in this study, hyaluronic acid-modified gold nanoparticles (HA/AuNPs) was synthesized and mixed with the muscle cell using hydrogel (3D nanohybrid hydrogel). Especially, differentiation of the muscle cells was promoted due to the HA, which has advantages in regeneration of tissue. In addition, electrical conductivity of 3D nanohybrid hydrogel was enhanced due to the HA/AuNPs. The 3D nanohybrid hydrogel indicated enhanced motion performance compared with that of without HA/AuNPs. To fabricate the structure of biohybrid robot, PDMS was introduced as support material. Then, 3D nanohybrid hydrogel was combined with PDMS for development of biohybrid robot. Fabricated biohybrid robot was swum by contraction of 3D nanocomposite hydrogel with electrical and chemical stimulI. The proposed biohybrid robot can be applied to neuromuscular disease drug screening by integrating motor neuron spheroid and brain organoids. |
