Material Approach to Powder-Based 3D Printing of Glass |
초록 |
Three dimensional printing (3DP) is a layer-by-layer method enabling fabrication of complex structures with flexibility in use of materials. This process is also beneficial for shaping of glass, which is not easy because of fragility and complicate viscous behavior. In this study, we built an open source 3DP machine and examined the consideration for a glass material as well as various printing parameters. SiO2-ZnO-B2O3 glass system was used for being printed material with different particles size, and thermal properties of the glass were analysed by hot stage microscopy to optimize the sintering profile. Polyvinyl alcohol solution was used as a binder and examined the interaction with glass material. Binder in interstitial between powders hinders neck formation between powders during heating resulting in delay of maximum shrinkage temperature of glass powders. Based on the binder saturation value (S<1), particle size and distribution dominantly affect maximum shrinkage rate than particle rearrangement by binder. |
