Polypropylene(PP) is widely used as an Automotive internal/external material due to its low price, balanced mechanical properties. When PP is used as instrument or door panels, wear occurs due to frequent use and contact. So wear resistance needs to be improved.Montmorillonite(MMT) is reported to increase abrasion resistance as well as mechanical properties and thermal stability when used as a filler with a polymer, but has been a problem due to low compatibility with organic polymersIn this study, the interfacial adhesion with PP and wear resistance were improved by using APTES(3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane)-modified MMT and Polypropylene-grafted-maleic anhydride (PP-g-mah).Modification of MMT and reaction between PP-g-mah and amine was confirmed through FT-IR.The interlayer distance of MMT was confirmed through XRD,and wear resistance was measured by TABER ablation test machine. FE-SEM, EDS, and DSC analysis were performed to find out morphology, dispersion, and thermal characteristics. |
