Optical Properties of Photosensitive Chalcone Photopolymers |

The photo-alignment of liquid crystal (LC) molecules plays an important role for liquid crystal display device. Photo-alignment method containing photosensitive groups is well known as one of alternatives that reduce the generation of electrostatic charge and dust in the rubbing process. On the other hand, photo-alignment film for photosensitive polymers with chalcone groups have been examined. Great LC alignment was observed for the LC cell using the polymer film with chalcone. In this study, we prepared the photopolymers with chalconyl isomers and investigated their excellent photo-alignment of liquid crystals using the low linearly polarized UV-curing energy. |
