Synthesis and properties of antibacterial polymers containing citronellol as side chain of polyepichlorohydrin |
초록 |
Citronellol is a type of terpenic alcohol like geraniol, and a component of essential oil extracted from Eucalyptus and Citronella java. Polyepichlorohydrin(PECH) was utilized as main backbone of synthesized antibacterial polymers and citronellol was substituted by altering the degree of substitution and its functional linkage group. To investigate the antibacterial mode of action, polyepichlorohydrin having a linear alkyl group was synthesized as a control. Comparing the antibacterial property of PECT and PEOT films, it is possible to speculate that the antibacterial property of PECT might be derived from the hydrophobicity of the PECTs by substitution of citronellyl thio group. |
