제목 | Photo-responsive Wringing Gel Fabricated from Azobenzene-based Gelator |
초록 | For fabrication of remote-controllablesmart devices, an asymmetric macrogelator based on azobenzene with biphenylfunctions is newly designed and successfully synthesized. The phase transitionsof the macrogelator depend on the scanning rate and overlapped phase is separatedas the cooling rate increases. The intercalations of alkyl chains crosslinkedby intermolecular hydrogen bonding and the formations of the layer structure areinvestigated through wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and small-angle X-rayscattering (SAXS) experiments. The photo-responsibility is investigated by UV lightirradiation to the organogel. When UV light is exposed to the organogel, gel-soltransition occurred by squeezing organic solvents due to trans-to-cisisomerization. The wringing behavior is resulted from the morphology change fromthe metastable 3D network to the stable layer structure.
