The design and synthesis of molecules which able to sense special kinds of ions are of major interest in chemical and biological processes. Among them, the sensors based on color and fluorescent emission changes can perform important roles in biological immune system and environmental processes. Therefore, it is essential to develop more sensitive and selective chemosensors for various kinds of ions. In this work, novel fluorescent cation sensors based on benzimidazole and multiphenylimidazole derivatives were synthesized. The ion binding properties for cations such as Cr3+ or Mg2+ will be discussed by monitoring absorption and fluorescence emission changes with various cations at a lower concentration. |
