Recently, nanocomposites of graphenes became popular because of their efficient reinforcement at small loadings and the excellent electrical and thermal properties. Graphene nanosheets (GNS) were prepared by surfactant assisted exfoliation method. The natural graphite could be exfoliated with cationic surfactant in water by ultrasonication. Hybrids of epoxy-silicone-acrylate resin were chosen in this study as a matrix of graphene nanocomposites. Curing behaviors of the epoxy-silicone acrylate resin with benzoyl peroxide and aluminum acetylacetonate were studied employing DSC. It was found that the curing of the epoxy-silicone-acrylate resin was retarded by the graphene incorporated. It is speculated the curing of the acrylates in the resin by free radical initiators were retarded by the graphene in the nanocomposites. |
