제목 Application of ultrasound in melt compounding for making modified Polycarbonates
초록 Polymer blending is an effective method to enhance the properties of polymers by compounding different polymers. Polymer blending objective is to improve the properties of existing polymer. Although Polycarbonate(PC) is well known for the engineering plastic with excellent transparency and high mechanical strength, it has low impact strength at low temperature. In this study, we made the PC compounds using melt mixer by imposing ultrasonic energy. Our research focused on the reactive blending without adding a catalyst in melt-mixing process. we could conclude that the ultrasound-assisted blending process instead of using the catalyst can provide an useful information associated with making making modified PC compounds.
