Crosslinked SPEEK membranes were prepared by electron beam radiation cross-linking of SPEEK with various contents of cross-linker. The cross-linked SPEEK membranes were characterized by using 1H-NMR, FTIR-ATR, DMA, and SAXS. 1H-NMR and FTIR-ATR results confirm the sulfonation and cross-linking of the membranes. DMA data indicate that the ionic modulus values and cluster Tg increase with decreasing crosslinker content. Thus, it was suggested that the number of ionic aggregation in the cluster regions could be reduced with increasing content of crosslinker. The SAXS data showed that the crosslinker did not affect the ionic domain morphology in the membranes. The proton conductivity of all the membranes was found to be higher than 10-2 S/cm. |
