Graphene, which has a single atomic layer of sp2 structure of carbon, is one of the most promising materials for next decades due to its mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. Graphene exhibits dominant properties compared with other carbon mateirals and potentials for applications such as electronics and energy storage. Many studies have been done to mix graphene with polymer matrix to enhance its properties. However, aligned behavior of the graphene in polymer matrix has been rarely studied. Herein, we fabricate aligned graphene oxide composites by incorporating polydimethylsiloxane matrix by simple route. Anisotropic properties of graphene oxide lead to its liquid crystal behavior in aqueous media. Aligned behavior is achieved by penetrating graphene oxide into polydimethylsiloxane matrix. This method is simple solution process and applicable to various aligned composites with polymer matrix. |
