제목 Enhancement of cross-linking density and ductility of an epoxy resin by tertiary amine-functionalized polyrotaxane additives.
초록 A novel accelerator capable of simultaneously enhancing the cross-linking density and ductility of an epoxy resin without sacrificing the reaction rate is developed. The basic concept of the proposed accelerator is the functionalized polyrotaxane (PRX_NR1) accelerator modified with a tertiary amine: a molecular necklace structure that can increase cross-linking density and ductility of epoxy resin. FT-IR and DSC measurements confirmed that the PRX_NR1-containing epoxy resin afforded a high reaction rate. In addition, the cross-linking density and mechanical properties of the epoxy resin were confirmed by DMA, tensile test and impact test. The epoxy resin exhibited a simultaneous increase in cross-linking density and ductility which is important to avoid brittle fracture of the epoxy resins. These results imply that the proposed molecular necklace-like supramolecular PRX_NR1 accelerator is highly effective to overcome the conventional drawbacks of an epoxy resin.
