Current achievements in the mimicking cellular structures are including 1) assembling cellular membranes, composed of various phospholipids, and 2) determining the cytoplasmic skeletons, and each achievement is providing a key information, eventually to produce physically and chemically controlled cell-mimicked vesicles when they are merged. In this talk, I will present the followings, 1) the detailed molecular structures of the stepwise interactions that appear upon the addition of biological molecules (peptides and proteins) across the lipid bilayers, and the receptor aided binding phenomena of the Tat peptide on heparin-inserted lipid monolayer, 2) the cardiolipins (for inner mitochondria membranes) effects on mitochondria -unique membrane structures, revealed by X-ray and neutron reflection, and 3) our recent results on the incorporation of cyto-skeleton-mimicking polymers into lipid vesicles using by X-ray coherent diffraction measurements. |
