제목 Ionizing radiation-based micropatterning of antifouling poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) films for the spatial inhibition of cell adhesion
초록  In this study, a facile ionizing radiation-based method for the micropatterning of antifouling films on polymer surface for spatial inhibition of cell adhesion was investigated. The poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAAm) thin films formed on tissue culture polystyrene (TCPS) dishes by spin coating were selectively irradiated by energetic ions at different fluences through a pattern mask, and then developed to generate the negative patterns of PNIPAAm on TCPS surfaces. The results of the surface analysis revealed that well-defined negative patterns of PNIPAAm were successfully generated on the dishes above the fluence of 5 x 1014 ions/cm2. Furthermore, the result of the cell culture test exhibited that 100 µm cell patterns were effectively formed on PNIPAAm-pattered TCPS substrates due to the strong antifouling effect of PNIPAAm patterns.
