Recently, research on an organic light emitting diode (OLED) based on thermally active delayed fluorescence (TADF) having a high internal quantum efficiency is being actively conducted. Otherwise, the solution processing technology, one of the device fabrication methods, is important for simple, low cost, and large area display panel manufacturing. In this study, three-armed luminogens, IAcTr-out and IAcTr-in, were synthesized and used as green TADF emitters in OLEDs. Interestingly, the two luminogens displayed aggregation-induced emission as well as TADF characteristics. As a non-doped emitting layer in the OLED devices, IAcTr-in showed maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 11.75% for hybrid-solution processed OLED and 10.93% for all-solution processed OLED with a low efficiency roll-off. Furthermore, the EQEmax of 17.53% and 18.43% were obtained for the respective doped emitting layer-based devices using IAcTr-out and IAcTr-in as emitter and mCP as host. |
