제목 Effect of electron beam irradiationon activated carbon fibersfor electric double layercapacitor
초록 Herein, Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were electron beam irradiated atvarious irradiation doses to enhance electrochemical properties of the ACFs forelectric double layer capacitor electrodes. Defects of the ACF surface weredecreased and C-C (sp2) bonds onto that were increased after the electron beam irradiation.The specific surface area and pore volume of the E-beam irradiated ACFs werealso increased up to 33 and 21%, respectively, compared with the untreatedACFs. The changes of the surface structure of ACFs were due to formation ofdefects and rehybridization of carbon atoms by electron beam irradiation. Thespecific capacitance of the ACFs treated with the E-beam at irradiation dosesof 200 kGy increased by 40 % compared with the untreated ACFs. The enhancementof the electrochemical properties in electron beam irradiated ACFs contributedto the increase in the specific surface area and pore volume.
