Barium titanate (BaTiO3) is widely used in the various industry fields due to its promising dielectrical properties originated from the perovskite structure. As the miniaturization of electric devices proceeds, the size of its consituents are also required to decrease below 100nm. However, the size effect of BaTiO3 have been limiting the further advance in miniaturization as paraelectric phase comes stable from the surface of the NPs. That is, high tetragonality of BaTiO3 particle is essential to enhance the efficiency of electric devices. In this study, we synthesized BaTiO3 nanowire with high tetragonality using the hydrothermal process with addition of ploymeric additive. Effects of the amount of the additive on the particles morphology as well as their crystallinity have been investigated. Furthermore, relations between tetragonality and lattice defect have also been examined. |
