제목 Fabrication and characterization of the composite membrane based on SPAES for Improved vanadium redox flow battery performance
초록 The composite membranes, based on sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPAES) with inorganic additives containing free radical for vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB), have been preparated by using a simple solution casting method. We fabricated composite membranes by optimizing the various contents of inorganic additives in the SPAES matrix. The SPAES composite membranes showed the low vanadium permeation due to the tortuous-pathway effect ascribed to blocking the ion cluster and the Donnan effect caused by the change of free-radical of nanoparticle to positive charge at VRFB cell charging. The optimized composite membrane exhibited better efficiencies than the pristine SPAES membrane, and the capacity retention was maintained during 200 cycles operation at current density 100 mA cm-2 in VRFB.
