제목 Degradation of rhodamine B by lysozyme-mineralized photocatalyst under visible light irradiation
초록 Here, TiO2 with an enhanced photocatalytic activity was biomineralized using a lysozyme (LYZ)–polystyrene (PS) biotemplate. We present a facile and green biomineralization route for TiO2 particles to increase the photodegradation efficiency of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation. LYZ was first bound onto PS microspheres by passive adsorption, and the LYZ–PS template functioned as a nucleation core to induce the biomineralization of TiO2 particles. A bare LYZ without PS was compared with the TiO2-mineralizing template using the same process. The TiO2 mineralized on both templates was calcined at various temperatures. Compared to the bare LYZ, the LYZ–PS template enabled the empty structure in the particles during the calcination and provided a higher nitrogen content in photocatalysts. Here the LYZ–PS templated TiO2 exhibited improved photocatalytic activity with au. 98% degradation of RhB after 80 min under solar light irradiation.
