Biomineralization Mechanism on Collagen for Bone Tissue Applications |
초록 |
Collagen (COL) is a protein constituting about 30% of total protein content in human body. In addition, COL is a major organic phase of natural bone. Hydroxyapatite (HA) has been widely used as bone substitutes since HA displays chemical structure similar to bone. On the other hand, the bone formation mechanism has not been well-explored so far although bone is formed via HA mineralization on COL fiber. In this study, we investigated bone mineralization mechanism under the biomimetic environment. COL film was prepared and film surface was used for the mineralization of amorphous apatite. It was attempted to incorporate metallic trace element in the mineralization process. The mineralized COL morphology and chemical state were analyzed using SEM and EDS. |
