제목 Thermodynamic Character of Baroplasticity in Various Phase Behaviors
초록 The baroplastic block copolymers (BCPs) and the compressibility issue pertaining to the enhanced miscibility with pressure have been an attractive topic, because an ordered state of baroplastic BCPs becomes a phase-mixed phase. This is in contrast to the incompressibility that was dictated by the enthalpic effect arising from the increased unfavorable contacts between the two blocks by increasing pressure. In this study, we produced various phase behaviors in the miscible BCP blends composed of polystyrene-b-poly(n-butyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PnBMA) / deuterated-polystyrene-b-poly(n-hexyl methacrylate) (dPS-b-PnHMA). Baroplasticity was observed in nearly symmetric blends of PS-b-PnBMA/dPS-b-PnHMA, leading to the most outstanding pressure coefficients, ldT/dPl, in a closed-loop type phase behavior between a lower disorder-to-order transition (LDOT) and an order-to-disorder transition (ODT) type phase behavior.
