Curcumin polymeric micelles as inhibitor of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway target colon cancer |

In this study. we describe the formulation, characterization and bio-activity of polymeric micelles conjugating the curcumin. Polysuccinimide (PSI) was synthesized. hydrophobic octabecylamine (C18) and hydrophilic O-(2-aminoethyl) polyethylene glucol were grafted on a PSI backbone. Folic acid was used as targeted ligand. Two different formulations: Folate-PEG-Hyd-Curcumin/C18-PSI (FA-Cur) and PEG/Hyd-Curcumin/C18-PSI (NFA-Cur) micelles were tested. The characterization was expressed by H-NMR. The cytoxicity was performed by MTT assay. The effective therapy was confirmed on SW480 colon cancer cells. The results also confirmed that FA-Cur inhibited the target genes, cyclin D1 and c-myc. Taken togethe, FA-Cur micelles are a promissing candidate for colon anto-cancer through inhibiting Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. |
