Supporting TiO2 on different materials is a potential strategy to improve the photochemical properties of the resulting composites. Herein, kaolinite (K) and zirconia were used as a support to synthesize a series of titania based photocatalysts with desirable properties for decolorization of organic contaminants. The physiochemical properties of the photocatalysts were examined by XRD, N2 physisorption studies, FTIR, TGA, SEM-EDAX, XRF, UV-visible DRS and HRTEM. XRD results revealed that through varying pH of the reaction, different TiO2 crystals suitable for photocatalysis can be attained in the sintered samples. |
