Over the past years, thermogelling polymers that undergo sol-gel transition in aqueous media as the temperature increases have been extensively studies for various biomedical applications, especially for drug delivery and tissue engineering. In this studies, a series of acyl glycol chitosans have been synthesized by N-acylation of glycol chitosan and evaluated as a new effective thermogelling system that may overcome the limitions in the current synthetic polymer based thermogel systems. Also, various thermogelling polymer systems with different physicochemical properties and biological functionalities have been developed for diverse biomedical applications, including ocular drug delivery, muco-adhesive drug delivery, 3D cell spheroid formation and so on. |
