Biodegraderble polymeric nanoparticles are useful carriers for delivery of drugs, proteins, targeting moieties, imaging agents and other bioactive molecules in pharmaceutical and cosmetics field. Polyaspartic acid, PASP, is a synthetic, water-soluble and biodegradable polyamide. PASP is produced from polysuccinimide by hydrolysis and subsequent acidification. In this work, novel amphiphilic biodegradable graft copolymers with amino acid pendants were synthesized based on polyaspartic acid. L-lysine and γ-amino butyric acid among others are conjugated, which can function as a bioactive ingredient or a spacer group. The chemical structures of copolymers were confirmed by FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. And their physicochemical properties in aqueous media were characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta potential measurement, fluorescence spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, and TEM. |
