The scaffolds must have several requirements such as high porosity, a large surface area, and a uniformly distributed and highly interconnected pore structure throughout them. To fulfill these, it is good to prepare functional scaffolds with dual pore system for tissue regeneration. In addition to highly porous and interconnected structure, surface modification with plasma glow discharge treatment is better method for cell seeding, cell growth, and the production of extra-cellular matrices. In this study, biodegradable polymeric scaffolds (PLLA and PLGA) with dual pore system were prepared by gas foaming method and phase separation technique. And then, acrylic acid and oxygen for plasma treatment were used to modify the surface of dual pore scaffolds. The surface-modified fuctional scaffolds with dual pore system were evaluated by examing pore size, porosity, water contact angle, biodegradability, mechanical properties, and cell culture.
