제목 Partial oxidation of ethylene to ethylene oxide over nano-sized silver catalysts
초록 The effect of particle size of Ag and promoter in the Partial oxidation of ethylene to ethylene oxide was studied over siver catalysts. The various α-Al2O3 supported silver catalysts were prepared by precipitation, modified precipitation, water-alcohol, micro emulsion and lactic acid methods. BET surface area before and after the reaction were characterized by N2 physisorptin, and the particle size of Ag was measured by TEM and XRD analysis. It was also found that Cs promoted Ag/α-Al2O3 catalyst prepared by precipitation method showed higher selectivity and conversion than the other catalysts. Conversion and selectivity of Cs-promoted Ag/α-Al2O3 catalyst under optimum operation condition are obtained 14% and 70%, respectively. The Ag catalysts with particle size of about 30nm were more stable and better active than the Ag catalysts with particle size less than 15nm. the catalytic activity of Ag/α-Al2O3 catalysts was related to the particle size of silver.
