Nickel catalysts supported on highly ordered mesoporous silica (MSU-H) and the promoted Ni@MSU-H catalysts were prepared and compared in terms of activity and stability. The elements for promotion were Ce, Mg, Zr, Zn, K and Sr. The catalytic activities of the catalysts for partial oxidation of methane were evaluated in a micro fixed-bed reactor. According to the activity tests, Ce, Mg, and Zr were found to be effective to promote Ni@OMS catalysts. In addition, the promoted OMS supported catalysts were shown to have strong resistance against sintering and coke formation. The structures of the catalysts and carbon deposition on the catalysts were analyzed using XRD, TEM, TGA and BET techniques. |
