A-D-A-D’ terpolymer was found to provide versatility of molecular design, which makes it easier to control both photoelectric and physical characters of the polymer. This advantage of tuning polymer properties helps the developments of high efficient polymer solar cell. In this study, we fabricated diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based alternating conjugated terpolymers composed of biphenyl and bithienyl in the polymer backbone. The physical, optical, and electrochemical properties of the newly synthesized polymer were investigated in detail. We also applied the polymer in organic thin film transistor and organic solar cell to measure electronic and optoelectronic properties. The efficient properties of A-D-A-D’ terpolymer were evaluated and compared with those of the corresponding A-D and A-D’ copolymers. |
