제목 Instantaneous optical cross-linking of poly(4-vinyl phenol) dielectric on a plastic substrate using intensively pulsed white light and its application to organic thin-film transistors
초록 To guarantee the chemical resistance and low leakage current polymer gate dielectrics generally need a cross-linking with covalent bonding. Thermal treatment or UV light irradiation have been widely used as a crosslinking method, however they require somewhat high-temperature over the plastic substrate and a long process time with tens of minutes. These methods are not compatible with roll-to-roll based mass production of organic electronic devices. In this work, we newly demonstrated intensely pulsed white light (IPWL) treatment as split-second cross-linking method for poly(4-vinyl phenol) (PVP) gate dielectric. Only 10 second irradiation of IPWL resulted in fully cross-linked PVP dielectric with good dielectric properties which was comparable to that of the thermally-crosslinked PVP. OTFT performance based on IPWL-treated PVP dielectric layer exhibits was improved to match that of the device based on typical PVP dielectric.
