It has been known that the problem for the lead-acid batteries with high self-discharge. For solving this problem on the lead-acid batteries, we tried to analyze the forming of lead-sulfate on the negative and positive electrodes after long time of self-discharge state. So we found that lead-sulfate could be a cause to decreased cycle ability and capacity in lead-acid batteries. In this study, we try to confirm relation of self-discharge and capacity with electrochemical activation method to decomposition of lead-sulfate. The XRD, SEM studies also discussed for improvement of enlarge the dropped capacity from self-discharge state. As a result, the capacity recovered about 70% compared with the initial. |
