Preparation and properties of GF/GO/PPS composites using by silane-treated glass fiber |

Glass fibers have stimulated tremendous interest as reinforcement for polymer matrix due to its very low cost, high mechanical property, good heat resistance. It is well known that the mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced polymer composites are critically related with fiber content, aspect ratio, fiber-matrix interfacial adhesion. To improve fiber-polymer interfacial adhesion, we used reduced graphene oxide (RGO), which consists of a two-dimensional sheet of covalently bonded carbon atoms bearing various oxygen functional groups. Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) could enhance the strength and toughness of the fiber-matrix interfacial region. This strategy has the potential to be in high performance polymer using Polyphenylene sulfide. These results indicated that glass fiber and reduced graphene oxide showed an important role in improving mechanical properties and crystallinity. |
