An ionic and electronic conductive polythiophene-based polymer was successfully synthesized and characterized. Thermal and electrochemical properties of the synthesized polymer was then investigated through DSC, EIS, and four probe point test. Due to the presence of PEG, the polymer shows low Tg value and ionic conductivity of 3.7x10-5 S/cm at 30 oC. It shows sufficient electronic conductivity of 8.7x10‑8 S/cm in room temperature. To further examine its use in the lithium-ion battery system, it was used as a cathode binder. Compared to PVDF binder, results showed higher capacity with more stable cell performances. This characteristics reduces the high interfacial resistance between the solid electrolyte and electrode. We believe this ionic and electronic conductive polythiophene-based polymer is a promising binder for all-solid lithium-ion battery system. |
