제목 | Rational Design of Polymers toward Biomaterials |
초록 | There has been a surge of interest in the development of biomaterials for medical applications, including drug or gene delivery, medical implants, tissue engineering, and diagnostics. Some of them are already in the market or under development in great anticipation. We have developed certain polymers by rational design for use in functional biomaterials. The first part of this seminar will present the synthesis of a new degradable polymer system, poly(amino alcohol esters) and the resulting polymers’ potential for use in gene transfection vectors. In the second part, I will discuss the synthesis of a novel random copolymer comprised of surface-reactive trialkoxysilane and PEG units (poly(TMSMA-r-PEGMA)) and its self-assembled ultrathin film onto metal oxide surfaces as a promising protein- and cell-resistant material. Finally, I will present a simple fabrication method for constructing protein and cell arrays based on the anti-biofouling surfaces. |
