The Durability and Degradation analysis of MEA for Polymer Eletrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells |

The durability is the key issue toward commercialization to evaluate lifetime of PEMFC. This presentation is reported about the durability protocol and degradation analysis for PEMFC operating above 100 oC using the hydrocarbon membrane. The durability test operating at high temperature is Accelerated Lifetime test (ALT) sweeping voltage and decay rate was compared with steady-state operation. Also we present modified ALT protocol by changing voltage sweeping condition and frequency. All performances of Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) are confirmed by EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy). As the protocol of degradation analysis, MEA was characterized by FE-SEM, TEM, XRD, conductivity, IEC (Ion Exchange Capacity) and IC (Ion Chromatography). |
