The vascular network structures are general and essential circulatory system that functions to transport blood or lymph throughout the body. These structurers have a major role in the regulation of metabolic activity, development, healing, immune response and the progression of many diseases. Therefore, the mimicking of the vascular network structures has potential uses in applications of various parts such as tissue regeneration and drug screening. In this talk, in vitro 3D tissue platform will be introduced, which based on compressed collagen tube and tissue derived decellularized extracellular matrix made of several kinds of human cells in microfluidic chambers. In the 3D in vitro platform containing tissue engineered constructs, we could find that microvascular network was formed and anastomosis was found. Therefore, this unique experimental platform can be used to investigate angiogenesis and anastomosis and applied to drug screening. |
