Improvement of charge carrier collection and photocurrent generation is important for a design of efficient electrode contact for organic photovoltaics device. Properties of the organic photovoltaic devices with a layered hole-extraction material will be demonstrated. This provides the control of work functions as well as the structural ordering of poly(3-hexylthiophene):fullerene active layer, resulting in the increase of short circuit current and nominal power conversion efficiency. Various factors affecting the current injection, rectification, open circuit voltage, and photocurrent of the devices are characterized in relation with the chemical properties of surface. Our investigation on the interfacial states at adjacent to the active layers will be beneficial for the improvement of photocurrent generation as well as macroscopic printing quality of organic/nanostructured electronic materials. |
