For biomedical applications, inorganic particles are required to be concentrated or mixed in various environments. When particles are irreversibly aggregated, they lose some important features, such as their large surface-to-volume ratio and their biostability. In this study, we propose here the use of iron oxide encapsulated PLGA nanoparticles as a potent targeted MR contrast agent for a therapeutic or a diagnosis agent. Prepared nanoparticles were analyzed by TEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and DLS. Significant targeting intensity enhancement was observed in Her-2/neu-overexpressing cell and a slight decrease in signal intensity was observed in Her-2/neu-overexpressing in a breast cancer model. |
