Hyperbranched polymers as an additive for both electrode and membrane in high temperature PEM fuel cell application |
초록 |
Hyperbranched polymers based on phenoxide linkage (HPE) were prepared by 3,5-difluorophenol as an AB2 type monomer. Suzuki polycondensation was applied to synthesize HPE to prepare fluorinated hyperbranched polymers (HPEF). The oxygen affinity is induced by the high electronegativity of fluorine and such functionality was introduced by launching hyperbranched structure and resulted in maximization of fluorine density at the outskirts. Therefore, high oxygen affinity is expected for HPEF possessing high fluorine population. Core structure based on phenylene groups also contributed to high thermal stability and high Tdeg(500 ℃) was observed. HPEF as an additive for both electrode and membrane showed remarkable improvement in cell performance and great feasibility for high temperature PEM fuel cells appilication. |
