제목 | Tuning Interfacial Interaction of 6FDA-Polyimide/UIO-66 Mixed Matrix Membranes for Efficient Gas Separation |
초록 | Metal-organicframework (MOF) embedded mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) attract great interest to alternate the conventional polymeric membranes which have limitations including a trade-off between gas selectivity and permeability. However, MMMs face the challenge of the defects at the polymer/filler interface which must be optimized to achieve the ideal membrane morphology and gas separation performance. Herein, we demonstrate the effect of hydrogen bonds between the metal-organic frameworks (i.e., UIO-66) and polymer functionality (i.e., -COOH). As expected, balanced interaction of MOF and 6FDA-DAM:DABA (2:2) exhibited both enhancements of permeability and selectivity while 6FDA-DAM: DABA (1:2) only the selectivity. As a result, this study provides meaningful insights to fabricate MOF- based mixed matrix membranes for ideal interface morphology. |
