제목 Preparation and characterization of hydrogels containing β-glucan by gamma ray irradiation
초록 Hydrogels for wound dressing were prepared by γ-ray irradiation. The hydrogel is composed of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP), glycerin, carrageenan and β-glucan. The properties of the hydrogel such as gel fraction, degree of swelling and gel strength were investigated to evaluate application of the hydrogel for wound dressing. It was found that the gel fraction increased and the degree of swelling decreased with increasing irradiation dose. The compressive strength increased as irradiation dose increased. In vivo assessment showed that the hydrogel was suitable for wound dressing. Therefore, the hydrogel containing β-glucan could be considered as good wound dressing.
