The active layer of organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) is made up of donor and acceptor materials. The donor materials have been developed successfully compared to acceptor materials because fullerene derivatives are almost fixed as a representative acceptor with their good electron mobility. However, fullerene derivatives have some drawback such as difficult purification procedures and synthesis and weak absorption in the visible region. To solve these problems, non-fullerene acceptors with easy synthesis and high absorbance showing good interaction with donor materials are necessary. On the other hands, dye materials have been introduced as strong electron-withdrawing units showing high power conversion efficiency over 8%. In this work, we synthesized non-fullerene acceptor materials containing various dye end units and the photovoltaic properties of acceptors were explained by the optical and electrochemical properties. |
