제목 | UV enhanced synthesis of Au/TiO2 nanocomposites and their possible synthesis mechanism |
초록 | We report the synthesis of high density Au coated TiO2 nanocomposites by UV irradiation. The prepared TiO2 nanopowder and HAuCl4 solution was used to synthesize Au/TiO2 nanocomposites and the mixed solution was UV irradiated for 15 minutes. This method is easier and faster than the other process in synthesizing Au/TiO2 nanocomposites Au nanoparticles that are uniform about 2 nm are loaded on TiO2 nanopowders with high density. By deposition of Au nanoparticles on TiO2 nanopowder, which facilitates charge (electrons) transfer out of the conduction band of the n-type semiconductor (TiO2) after irradiation, one can prevent the rapid recombination of charge carriers and make improvement in photocatalytic efficiency. In this study, we focus on the possible loading mechanisms of Au nanoparticles on the TiO2 nanopowder under the UV irradiation for the synthesis of high density Au/TiO2 nanocomposite and the effect of morphological and crystallographic aspects of the Au nanoparticles on the photocatalytic efficiency of Au/TiO2 nanocomposites. |
