According to clinical studies, elevated total homocysteine (tHcy) concentration in blood is related to coronary artery disease, stroke, and osteoporotic fractures. Therefore, there is a high demand for the development of Hcys sensing probes in plasma. For this, a peptide-based ensemble system using amino terminal copper and nickel (ATCUN) motif (XXH) was designed for detecting Hcy in aqueous solutions. This ensemble showed a selective turn-on response to Hcys among biothiols in aqueous solutions. In case of sNBD(4-nitro-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole)-labelled tripeptide (sNBD-XXH) ensemble system showed both fluorescence and absorbance changes. Further, we will study this ensemble system of probe and Cu(II) in human serum. |
