Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) as organic filler is one of the important candidates to improve the mechanical properties of host material, because the Young’s modulus of CNCs is reported to reach 105-143 GPa. We studied the effect of the reinforcement filler of CNCs on the properties of poly(ether ester) elastomers was investigated. A poly(ether ester) based thermoplastic elastomers nanocomposite successfully was synthesized through in situ polymerization by using dimethyl furan-2,5-dicarboxylate (2,5-FDCA) as a hard segment, 1,4-butanediol, 1,4-cyclohexanediol as chain extenders, poly(tetramethylene ether glycol) with a molecular weight of 1000 as a soft segment, and CNCs as organic filler. In this study, the obtained samples were systematically characterized by using spectroscopic, mechanical, thermal and rheological analyses. |
